After going to the duck pong to take these photos, I learned that the background really matters. I used Mrs. Moncure's handout to decide on these poses which was helpful because it was awkward to try and create our own. On closeup shots, we used the reflector under the model's chin near their stomach to create highlights and shadows. It was useful because it added a glow to their face. Wedding photographers, maternity photographers, family photographers, and event photographers are some positions that use portrait photography. Typically, clients research photographers and go through their galleries or portfolios and hire these photographers for their occasion. The annual salary ranges between $15,000 and $75,000. The typical hourly charge ranges between $10.00 and $50.00 to take someone's portrait photographs.

For this project, I brought pancakes, but I didn't think they were as visually appealing as these brownies, which I borrowed from a friend. I used a colorful rag in the background for some of my photos. For the rest, I used a plain white background to contrast the darkness of the brownies. Some things I learned from the food photography videos were that you could use shoe polish to create a dewy effect, glue to thicken, apply sauces with a syringe to make everything look more clean and appetizing, focus matters, and setup matters. I did not find a photographer to mimic for this project. I learned who to properly set up for food photography, to keep the focus by contrasting colors or size, and to use proportion. I learned that most, if not all, fast food businesses use food photography to make their food appear more appetizing. I think some photos were successful, and some were not. I learned that food photography is not my strong spot and I would rather stick to something else; however, I did enjoy the experience and bringing in food.
