I mimicked the magazine Marie Claire. I like this magazine because it is mostly about fashion and beauty. To emulate this magazine cover style, I used similar fonts and tried to think of similar captions. I used several fonts to mimic the style of Marie Claire. We used strobe lights and photoshop. A strobe light is a light that creates the illusion of natural light. It enhances photos, especially for portraits. A model light is a light used to produce consistent light in a photo. It helps the photographer combat other light. A soft light makes light soft and even. A reflector reflects light onto another surface. It is a circular object that reflects light. A grey card is a card with 3 shades of grey. It helps produce image exposure. A radio trigger system is what helps you hook your camera up to the strobe light.

This image was taken near an old, Spanish-style building in Old Town San Diego. The aimed compositional rule is leading line because the stairs lead upwards, leading viewers’ eyes up as well. To take this photo, I used my iPhone SE. To add the dark, mysterious effect, I used Adobe Photoshop to make the photo monochrome and to darken the outer edges. I then adjusted the brightness of the highlights. My image is in the monochrome division because I thought the black and white effect added mystery and completed the photo, adding a cozy tone. For this photo, I mimicked the style of Manuel Alvarez Bravo, a Mexican photographer who solely created realistic, black and white photos. It was printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on an Epson P800 digital printer.
