For this project, I brought pancakes, but I didn't think they were as visually appealing as these brownies, which I borrowed from a friend. I used a colorful rag in the background for some of my photos. For the rest, I used a plain white background to contrast the darkness of the brownies. Some things I learned from the food photography videos were that you could use shoe polish to create a dewy effect, glue to thicken, apply sauces with a syringe to make everything look more clean and appetizing, focus matters, and setup matters. I did not find a photographer to mimic for this project. I learned who to properly set up for food photography, to keep the focus by contrasting colors or size, and to use proportion. I learned that most, if not all, fast food businesses use food photography to make their food appear more appetizing. I think some photos were successful, and some were not. I learned that food photography is not my strong spot and I would rather stick to something else; however, I did enjoy the experience and bringing in food.
